INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The veterinarians at YVC are accredited and can assist you when you travel internationally with your pets. We recommend that you:
- Make an appointment with us; please tell us your destination at the time you schedule the appointment.
- Before your appointment review the official information found at the APHIS website.
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is the US government agency in charge of animal imports and exports, including pets entering and leaving the country. Their website home page is www.aphis.usda.gov.
APHIS's IRegs for Animal Export contain the information you need to travel internationally with your pet(s). This information can be found at: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/animalhealth/export/iregs-for-animal-exports/ct_iregs_animal_exports_home
On this page, scroll down and find the country to which you will be travelling.
Please note: requirements for entry vary from country to country; they often include requirements for microchip and/or vaccines, and these sometime need to be done weeks or months before travelling. More than one appointment with us may be needed to complete the work in the specified time frame for your destination country.
We will help you by gathering the necessary information, performing the exams, vaccines, and microchipping, and once all of this work is completed, filling out the forms. Filling out the forms is fairly time-consuming and we will not do this during your appointment. We will do this after your appointment and have them ready for you on the next business day.
