Yarmouth Veterinary Center is equipped with a surgical laser. Laser surgery generally has less bleeding during surgery, less pain after surgery, and faster recovery.
Laser surgery is an option for most of the soft tissue procedures we perform, including routine spays and neuters. It is particularly useful for declawing cats. There are a few procedures that can be done only with a laser, and not with traditional surgical techniques; examples include vaporizing tumors in the ear canals of dogs and cats and vaporizing broad-based skin tumors and lick granulomas.
