YVC LASER THERAPY
WRITE YOUR OWN PRESCRIPTION FOR YOUR PET, OR LET US DECIDE
Some clients prefer to review the available information and choose the type of YVC Laser Therapy they want to use as their pet’s starting point (or re-starting point). We will review your choice with you, and as long as there are no contraindications (because of the unparalleled safety of laser therapy, there generally are none), we will create a treatment plan using your choice.
Some clients prefer to have their YVC doctor recommend a laser therapy treatment plan for their pet, which, of course, we are glad to do.
IF YOUR PET WAS RECEIVING LASER THERAPY AT YVC DURING OR BEFORE AUGUST 2015,
then it was receiving what is now called Anti-inflammatory Laser Therapy 1 (ALT1). You can change to ALT2 or ALT3, and/or you can add Regenerative Laser Therapy (RLT) and/or Laser Acupuncture (LA). If you continue with ALT1 the price remains the same. If you convert from ALT1 to ALT2 or ALT3, the difference between that and ALT1 is charged. If you add RLT and/or LA, these are charged at regular prices.
IF YOUR PET IS RECEIVING LASER THERAPY AT ANOTHER VETERINARY PRACTICE
and you would like to take advantage of Yarmouth Vet Center’s unique treatment options, we are glad to schedule the initial exam/consult. It is very helpful but not required for you to provide us with your pet’s medical history. We are also glad to consult with your primary care veterinarian if you would like us to do so.
Because YVC Laser Therapy is unique, it is most likely that your pet has been receiving the equivalent of Anti-inflammatory Laser Therapy 1 from your primary care veterinarian. We will confirm that this is correct before proceeding with YVC Laser Therapy.
YVC Laser Therapy begins with an examination of your pet and consultation with your YVC veterinarian. We will answer any questions you have and then create or approve a laser therapy treatment plan for your pet. The price of this initial office visit is $59.
If we have not seen your pet at YVC before, or if it has been more than a year since we have seen your pet, then the initial exam is required. It cannot be replaced by a phone consult, email consult, or by an exam by a non-YVC veterinarian.
If we have seen your pet within the preceding year the initial exam might not be necessary.
The first YVC Laser Therapy treatment can be scheduled to immediately follow the initial exam, or it can be scheduled on another day.
YOUR PET’S PROGRESS
Recheck exams are an excellent way to monitor a pet’s response to laser therapy. We often recommend progress exams during a laser therapy treatment plan and follow-up exams after a treatment plan is completed, but these exams are usually not required. They are scheduled on an as-needed and as-requested basis, and not included in a treatment plan. The price of these recheck exams varies from $40 to $59.
Recheck diagnostic tests, including blood profiles, urine profiles, x-rays, and ultrasound exams, are also sometimes worthwhile. These are scheduled on an as-needed and as-requested basis and regular YVC prices for these services apply.
